Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (45g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup (60g) Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings: berries, banana, peanut butter, cinnamon

Method

  1. Add the oats, milk, yogurt, chia, sweetener and salt to a jar.
  2. Stir well, making sure no dry oats cling to the sides.
  3. Seal and refrigerate at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
  4. In the morning, stir and loosen with a splash of milk if needed. Pile on your toppings.

Cook's notes

  • Use rolled oats, not instant (mushy) or steel-cut (too chewy).
  • Make 3–4 jars at once for grab-and-go weekday breakfasts.
  • Try flavor combos: PB & banana, apple-cinnamon, or berries & almond.
